1961 Paracypridea obovata obovata (Swain, 1946) —Krömmelbein, p. 358–359, pl. 3, figs 13–18.

Diagnosis: The nominate subspecies of P. obovata with the following peculiarities: lateral outline well rounded. In dorsal view regularly biconvex, sides not flattened; maximum carapace thickness [width] immediately behind the middle.
