Cypridea histrix Krömmelbein, 1962

1962 Cypridea histrix n. sp. —Krömmelbein, p. 448–449, pl. 55, fig. 18.

Diagnosis: A medium-size Cypridea species with a trapeziform lateral outline and a significantly forward-lying cardinal angle. Rostrum, rostral groove and rostral sulcus are well-developed. Strong spinosity; on each valve is a mostly multi-summited, strong spine in the “eye region”; two further strong spines lying one above the other to the side behind the middle. Small short spines ordered more or less in a line, particularly along the dorsal margin, on the posterior valve field, towards the ventral margin, and along the anterior margin. Carapace surface with distinct, rather irregularly arranged pore dimples; appearing particularly in the central field of the valves.

Holotype: Carapace, SMF Xe 4173.

Paratypes: 3 carapaces under SMF Xe 4174 .

Dimensions: Holotype, length 0.94mm, height 0.60mm.
