Type species: Ilhasina remanei Krömmelbein, 1963
Diagnosis: A genus of Cyprididae (? Cyclocypridinae) with the following peculiarities: carapace small (approx. 0.7mm to almost 1.0mm in length). Lateral outline approximately bean-shaped: anterior margin broadly rounded, posterior margin tapering more or less to a point. Dorsal margin equally curved or also distinctly angled; maximum height in the middle or just behind it. Marked or distinct coarse sculpture: extended or roundish swellings on the end-margins of both valves, or only on the posterior margins. Without fine sculpture. Internal features not known. Hinge presumably toothless.
