Johnsonomyia fusca Felt, 1908

This is a typical member of the genus Johnsonomyia, with the exception that the tegmen has prominent, moderately sclerotized edges apicolaterally (Parnell 1971: fig. 8), not unlike those found in many Gynapteromyia and some Haplusia . I have seen an unnamed Johnsonomyia from Costa Rica with a similar tegmen, but there it is completely membranous, which is another unusual condition for this genus. The tarsi of J. fusca are lighter than the more proximal leg segments.
