72. Bactra philocherda Diakonoff, 1964 (Fig. 31).

In his description of this species, Diakonoff (1964) reported specimens from the southeastern U.S.A. (Florida), the Caribbean (Dominica, Cuba, Jamaica), Central America (Panama), and western Africa. Like most species of Bactra, the host is reported to be Cyperus species ( Cyperaceae) (Diakonoff 1964, Keeley et al. 1970, Roditakis et al. 2016).

Specimens examined: Honduras: Dept. Comayagua, Comayagua, 8 Apr 1980 (1♂), S. Passoa (SCPC).
