Hygophum hygomii (Lütken, 1892)

Scopelus hygomi Lütken, 1892: (237) 256. Type locality: ca. 200 km east of the Azores, Atlantic Ocean. Hygophum hygomii, Galil & Goren, 1994: 49; Goren & Galil, 1997: 201, 2002: 151.

Distribution. Circumglobal; depth range 0– 800 m. In the Levant, the maximum known depth is 1485 m (Galil & Goren, 1994).
