Genus Zodarion Walckenaer, 1826

Type species. Enyo nitida Audouin, 1826, from Egypt .

Comment. Zodarion, with 175 nominal species, is the second largest genus in the family and the largest in Zodariinae (WSC 2022) .It is restricted to the West Palaearctic, with most of the species known from the Mediterranean region (WSC 2022). Judging from the diverse conformations in the copulatory organs of the species currently assigned to Zodarion, the genus is not monophyletic, with species closely related to the generotype restricted to the Eastern Mediterranean (Zamani & Marusik 2021).
