GENUS MELEOMA Fitch, 1855

Meleoma Fitch, 1855: 786; 1856: 81–82. Type species: Meleoma signoretti Fitch, 1855; monotypy.

Meleoma is a New World genus (New 2001). It is distributed from North America to northern South America (Brooks and Barnard 1990), with 28 described species (Penny 2006). Larvae are generally naked (Monserrat et al. 2001). In Canada, there are four species, as follows:
