Ceraeochrysa Adams, 1982: 70 . Type species: Chrysopa cincta Schneider, 1851; original designation.

Ceraeochrysa is a New World genus (Adams 1982), containing 40 described species and several undescribed species distributed throughout North and South America and the West Indies, but predominantly in South America (Brooks and Barnard 1990). The adults feed on honeydew or nectar; the larvae are debris-carriers (Adams 1982). One species occurs in Canada, as follows:
