REMARKS. The species is one of the smaller of the genus with body lengths of 16–18 mm Sanborn 2016c). The addition brings the known cicada diversity of Paraguay to 27 species (Sanborn 2011c; 2019a) with one questionable species included in the total (Sanborn 2014).

DISTRIBUTION. The species has been reported previously from Argentina, Brazil, and French Guiana (Metcalf 1963; Sanborn 2013; Sanborn et al. 2011; Sanborn & Heath 2014; Sanborn 2016c; Nunes et al. 2023).

MATERIAL EXAMINED fOR NEW RECORD. “ PARAGUAY: Cordillera / Dept. Caacupé Camp. / Evangelico Neatesta- / mentaria, 15–18-XI- / 2016, J. E. Eger, coll. // S25º22.446’ W057º / 02.769’ 988 ft. coll. / permit #271/2016 / At MV & UV Light ” one female (FSCA).
