Type material. Paratype [ Chrysina maishei Monzón & Hawks, 2017]: “ HONDURAS: Ocotepeque / Dept. Güisayote Biological / Reserve; 2100–2300 m / 16–19.viii.1998; MV light / D. C. Hawks & R. D. Cave [p] // PARATYPE / Plusiotis corderoi / D. C. Hawks [p, yellow label] // BMNH(E) / 2009-95 [ Scarabaeidae donation by David C. Hawks] [p] // NHMUK 014589830 [p]” .
Distribution. HONDURAS: Ocotepeque.
Remarks. The paratype of Chrysina maishei Monzón & Hawks, 2017 is labelled as “ Plusiotis corderoi ” as this was originally to be the species’ name. However, Hawks discovered Monzón was simultaneously describing the same species, and agreed to collaborate and to use instead the name chosen by Monzón (D.C. Hawks personal communication, 2022).
