Leucophenga hirticeps sp. nov.

Diagnosis. This species is similar to L. digmasoma in the male terminalia, but can be distinguished from the latter by having the abdominal 2nd tergite yellow, with black patches (Fig. 11 F–H); the aedeagus round apically (Fig. 32 D).
Description. Ocellar triangle yellowish brown to dark brown, with 2–4 setae above ocellar setae. Frons yellowish brown. Pedicel yellowish brown, brown at tip; first flagellomere yellow. Clypeus yellowish brown. Palpus brownish. Mesonotum brownish yellow to yellowish brown, dark brown before scutellum (Fig. 8 E). Postpronotal lobe yellow (Fig. 8 F). Acrostichal setulae in 12–16 irregular rows (Fig. 8 E). Scutellum dark brown, pale at tip (Fig. 8 E). Pleura with an unapparent, brownish, longitudinal stripe above (Fig. 8 F). Katepisternum mostly brownish yellow; mesopleuron mostly yellow, with a brown patch (Fig. 8 F). Wing (Fig. 3 F, G): Costal vein between R2+3 and R4+5 distally with 4–7 peg-like spinules on ventral surface. Halter slightly brownish apically (Fig. 8 E). Mid and hindlegs brown on knees. Abdominal tergites dark brown to black, with yellow patches (Fig. 11 F–H). Male terminalia: Epandrium with pubescence and 6 setae near posterior margin and ventral corner per side (Fig. 32 A). Paramere with serrations and 4 sensilla dorsally (Fig. 32 C).
Measurements. BL = 3.60 mm in holotype (range in 3♂ and 3♀ paratypes: 2.80–3.40 mm in ♂, 3.10–3.40 mm in ♀), THL = 1.83 mm (1.53–1.87 mm in ♂, 1.47–1.77 mm in ♀), WL = 3.40 mm (2.80–3.27 mm in ♂, 2.80–3.35 mm in ♀), WW = 1.37 mm (1.22–1.28 mm in ♂, 1.27–1.43 mm in ♀), arb = 7/3 (6–7/2–3), avd = 0.71 (0.72–0.92), adf = 1.56 (1.50–1.88), flw = 1.33 (1.50–1.75), FW/HW = 0.35 (0.35–0.41), ch/o = 0.05 (0.03–0.05), prorb = 0.57 (0.52–0.65), rcorb = 0.64 (0.57–0.63), vb = 0.50 (0.38–0.48), dcl = 0.51 (0.38–0.55), presctl = 0.54 (0.45–0.66), sctl = 1.19 (1.10–1.37), sterno = 0.90 (0.81–0.88), orbito = 1.91 (1.70–2.09), dcp = 0.27 (0.20–0.29), sctlp = 1.06 (1.03–1.17), C = 1.97 (1.59–2.04), 4c = 1.63 (1.42–1.80), 4v = 2.26 (1.90–2.38), 5x = 1.38 (1.24–1.62), ac = 3.44 (3.11–3.50), M = 0.58 (0.53–0.69), C3F = 0.92 (0.84–0.98).

Distribution. China (Yunnan, Xizang).
Etymology. A combination of the Latin words: “ hirtus ” (= hirsute) + “ ceps ” (= head) referring to the aedeagus with dense pubescence.
