Holotype. HNHM Pseudoscorp-843: ♀ “ Tyrannochthonius pugnax n. sp. ♀, Holotypus, dét. V. Mahnert 7.1977”, “Congo (Brazzaville) [Republic of the Congo], No: 639, [leg.] Balogh-Zicsi” [Lefini reservation, Mbéokala forest, beating].

Current status. Valid, as Lagynochthonius pugnax (Mahnert, 1978) (Muchmore 1991) .

Remark. One female paratype was deposited in NHMG.
