Type material. Holotype of K. mirabilis, ♀, Sri Lanka, Southern Province, Hambantota district, Palatupana Tank, 10–20 m, 27–29.ix.1977, K.V. Krombein & P.B. Karunaratne leg. [NMNH] . Paratype of K. mirabilis: 1♂, same labels as holotype [IBSS]; 2♀, same locality as holotype but 21–22.vi.1978, K.V. Krombein & P.B. Karunara- tne leg. [IBSS]; 1♂, Uva Province, Monoragala District, Angunakolapelessa, 100 m, 24–26.ix.1977, K.V. Krombein & P.B. Karunaratne leg. [IBSS] . Other material. Diagnosis. Male. Metapleuron smooth with strong transverse striae in upper part (Figs. 14, 22); propodeum laterally (near metapleuron) striate (Figs. 14, 22); propodeum less strongly punctate with microsculptures (Figs. 14, 22); legs yellow with femora and tibia slightly testaceous; parapenial lobe of basiparamere apically modified, capitate (Fig. 19). Female. Head finely granulate above; mesosomal dorsum and posterior surface of propodeum densely and finely punctate; sides of mesosoma mostly delicately shagreened; first two metasomal terga with fine, subcontiguous punctures, microsculpture similar to that on mesosomal dorsum; third to fifth terga more sparsely punctate; sixth terga finely shagreened; second sternum with larger subcontiguous punctures, following sterna with small subcontiguous punctures.
Distribution. India (new record): Kerala; Sri Lanka.
Remark. The specimen from Elanad (Fig. 20) has more yellow colour than that from the East Hill specimens, specifically it has the mesocoxa and apex of metacoxa yellowish. The antennal scape is dark brown in the East Hill specimens but brownish yellow in the Elanad specimen.
