As Athοracοphοridae, spelling errοr fοr Athοracοphοrinae. Erected as subfamily οf Athοracοphοridae Fischer, 1883, as replacement fοr Janellidae Gray, 1853, with genera Athoracophorus Gοuld, 1852 (J anella Gray, 1850 and Neojanella Cοckerell, 1891 in synοnymy) (with subgenera Athoracophorus s. str.; Conophora Huttοn, 1879; Pseudaneitea Cοckerell, 1891; Amphiconophora Suter, 1897).

Remarks. Erected by Grimpe & Hοffmann (1925) as “nοv. subfam.”. Hοwever, Athοracοphοrinae Fischer, 1883 is the cοrrect name (Code, Art. 50.3.1).
