Comments.
Deyeuxia macrostachya is known only from the type specimen collected by Sodiro in páramo grasslands close to mount Pichincha and Chimborazo, Ecuador. We found no noticeable differences between this and Pilgers specimens. The large, lax panicle with semiverticillate branches, similar spikelet morphology including the lemma apex bifid with aristulate teeth and rachilla hairs only reaching the apex of the palea, support D. macrostachya being synonymised under C. macrophylla .
