Type material. Catocala rosalinda: the original description states “Type, coll. Dr. James S. Bailey.” A male at the AMNH is labelled “Type 2.” Beutenmüller (1892: 192) stated that the type of C. rosalinda was at the AMNH, and we presume this male to be the specimen to which he referred, since we have been unable to locate a specimen of C. rosalinda bearing simply a “Type” label. Th e AMNH male is designated as lectotype to clarify application of the name rosalinda . Th e lectotype bears the labels “ New York. / Albany”, “No. 11836 / Collection / Hy. Edwards.”, “Type / No. / A.M.N.H.”, “Catoc. Type 2 / rosalinda. / Hy. Edw.” Type Locality: Albany, [New York, USA].
