Type locality. China, Henan province, Nanyang City, Neixiang County, Baotianman Nature Reserve, 33°29′33″N 111°55′48″E.
Type material. Holotype male (MYNU), labeled: “ China: Henan: Nanyang City, Neixiang County, Baotianman Nature Reserve, N33°29’33” E111°55’48”, 1310 m, 2.V.2020, light trap, Hao-Yi Liu leg.”.

Diagnosis. This species can be recognized based on the following combination of characters: body (Fig. 3A,B) elongate and narrow; head, pronotum, and elytra (Figs 3A,B; 8A) more or less uniformly dark brown to blackish; male elytra 2.30–2.55 times as long as wide; female elytra about 2.10 times as long as wide; elytral surface (Fig. 10D) rather smooth; aedeagus (Fig. 12D) with U-shaped phallobase.

Distribution. Eurypogon sanzang seems to be relatively widespread across Qinling Shan mountain range in southern Shaanxi and continuing mountains in western Henan, China (Fig. 15).
