General distribution. This synanthropic species is known from all zoogeographical regions and occurs in the warmer parts of the Palaearctic region, mainly in cities or in heated buildings in temperate regions. Comments. Evania appendigaster is is an efficient parasitoid of synanthropic cockroaches ( Blattodea: Blattidae), e.g. Periplaneta americana (Linnaeus, 1758) . For general biology, see Cameron (1957).
