Didymochlaena amazonica Li Bing Zhang & H.Shang, Syst. Bot. 48: 133. 2023.

Notes: —Along with D. amazonica, Shang & Zhang (2023) also described D. alpina from the northern Andes. This is said to differ by shorter sori and occurring mainly above 1300 m, whereas D. amazonica grows below this elevation. However, we have seen numerous Bolivian collections of D. amazonica from elevations above 1300 m (up to 1550 m). None of these correspond morphologically to D. alpina, and we do not consider that this species occurs in Bolivia.
