Saccoloma inaequale (Kunze) Mett., Ann. Sci. Nat., Bot., sér. 4, 15: 80. 1861.
Range:— Antilles; Honduras to Bolivia (BE, CO, LP, PA, SC) and Brazil.
Ecology:— Common; terrestrial in humid forests, often along streams and on clayey soils (Tuomisto & Ruokolainen 1994); mostly below 1000 m, but occasionally to 1550 m.
Notes:— Differs from superficially similar Mucura bipinnata ( Dennstaedtiaceae) by its erect, scaly rhizomes and submarginal sori.
