Imparipes (Imparipes) obsoletus Rack, 1966

World distribution. This species has a world-wide distribution, inhabits soil and is phoretic on various ant species, such as Lasius flavus (F.), L. umbratus (Nylander, 1846) ., L. alienus (Foerster, 1850), L. (Lasius) niger (Linnaeus, 1758), L. (Dendrolasius) fuliginosus (Latreille, 1798), Formica (Serviformica) fusca Linnaeus, 1758, F. (Serviformica) rufibarbis Fabricius, 1793 and Messor spp. (Khaustov 2008; Khaustov & Tolstikov 2016).

Material examined. Four specimens of this mite species were obtained in a vial containing ethanol 75% and 11 specimens of Lasius spp. ants, collected by a light trap in Alangdareh Forest Park, Gorgan, Golestan Province, northern Iran, 36.46°N, 54.26°E, altitude 432 m., coll. V. Rahiminejad, 30 July 2021 .

Remarks. This species is a new record for mite fauna of Iran.
