Zeiratingis Drake & Ruhoff, 1961

Zeiratingis Drake & Ruhoff, 1961: 173; Drake & Ruhoff, 1965: 427.

Type species: Zeiratingis peirosa Drake & Ruhoff, 1961, by original designation.

Diagnosis. Among the Tingini genera with the enormous, semiglobose, reflexed paranota concealing most of the pronotum, Zeiratingis can be separated by the uniquely enormous, semiglobose, multiseriate lateral carinae under paranota.

Zeiratingis is similar to Ypsotingis Drake ( Tinginae: Ypsotingini) in having enormous, semiglobose, reflexed paranota and multiseriate lateral carinae. But it is easy to distinguish from the latter by the tribal level differences, e.g. head elongate and reaching or almost reaching the apex of the first antennal segment in Ypsotingini .

Comments. Until now, the genus Zeiratingis included two species, Z. dissita from Borneo and Z. peirosa from Vietnam. This is the first record of the genus from China.
