Material examined. 1 subadult male (MGAB CUM 1761), Weinberg, La Parguera, Puerto Rico, Caribbean Sea, 17° 32’03”N, 66°35’35”W, sorted from algae, 58 m, June 3, 2008 ; 1 manca (MGAB CUM 1762), Collado reef, La Parguera, Puerto Rico, Caribbean Sea, sorted from a zoanthid Zoanthus sp. ball, 0.5 m, 17°57’15”N, 67°04’40”W , September 16, 2008, collected by Nikolaos V. Schizas; 1 manca (MGAB CUM 1805), May 4, 2012, Salt River Canyon, St. Croix, U.S. Virgin Islands, 17°47'12.8040"N, 64°45'30.8160"W, 70 m, 2012, collected by Nikolaos V. Schizas during the UPRM-DMS Mesophotic Cruise.
Diagnosis. Carapace in female with hairy integument, uropodal peduncle 1.29 times pleonite 6 length, 4 medial setae on peduncle, endopod with 2 medial setae. Male uropodal peduncle 1.2 times pleonite 6 length, 5 medial setae on peduncle and on endopod.
Remarks This species was earlier described from Bermuda (Băcescu, 1992; Petrescu & Sterrer, 2001). This is the first record of this species from Puerto Rico.
Distribution. Bermuda (Băcescu, 1992; Petrescu & Sterrer, 2001), Puerto Rico (present record). Depth range: 0– 70 m.
