Material examined. 1 subadult female (MGAB CUM 1717), damaged, Weinberg, La Parguera, Puerto Rico, Caribbean Sea, 17°55'27.68"N 66°32'39.08"W, sorted from algae, 58 m, June 3, 2008 ; 1 adult male (MGAB CUM 1718), shelf Edge La Parguera, Puerto Rico, Caribbean Sea, exact GPS information is not available, 45–60 m, collected during 2008–2009 by Nikolaos V. Schizas.

Diagnosis. Carapace without dorsal crest of spines, pereopod 1 with propodus double banded, 8 medial setae on peduncle medial margin, 7 medial setae on endopod proximal segment, 3 on distal one. Male with same banded pereopod 1 propodus, 12 medial setae on peduncle, 12 medial setae on endopod proximal segment, 3 on distal one.

Remarks. This is the first record of this species from Puerto Rico.

Distribution. Florida (Băcescu, 1971), Jamaica (Petrescu et al., 1993), Cuba (Petrescu, 2004) and Puerto Rico (present report). Depth range: 1– 8 m.
