Type material. Holotype (Figs 96, 195): ♂, Taiwan, Prov. Kao-Hsiung, 15 km NE Taoyuan, 1850 m, 07.VII.1996, leg. G. Csorba et L. Németh, slide MWM 31441 (♂) Volynkin (Coll. MWM/ ZSM).

Paratypes: 9 ♂, 4 ♀, same data as in the holotype (Coll. MWM/ ZSM); 17 ♂, 1 ♀, Taiwan, Prov. Ping-Tung, 10 km SE of Mutan, 470 m, 03–04.VII.1996, leg. G. Csorba et L. Németh, slide MWM 31442 (♀) Volynkin (Coll. MWM/ ZSM) ; 1 ♂, Taiwan, Prov. Nan-Tou, 15 km N of Puli, Uisun Forest Area, 500 m, 09–10.VII.1996, leg. G. Csorba et L. Németh (Coll. MWM/ ZSM) .

Diagnosis. Forewing length is 13.5–14 mm in males (14 mm in the holotype) and 14.5–15 mm in females. Barsine karenkensis wushipheri ssp. n. differs from the nominate subspecies by its bright yellow wing coloration and narrower discal spot of forewing. The genitalia of both sexes have no significant differences.
