Eucyane variabilis variabilis Zerny, 1928: 3 . Lectotype hereby designated, male: COLOMBIA, Bella Vista, August 1927; with two labels: printed label “W. Columbien, Bella Vista, August 1927 ”, and a handwritten label “Eucyane variabilis Zerny ♂ f. typ. Zerny type ”. One paralectotype, male, with the same labels as the lectotype, plus a red “ Type ” label (ZMHB) [examined].

Current combination. Hypocrita variabilis variabilis (Zerny, 1928) .

Condition of the types. Lectotype. In very good condition. Paralectotype. Wings slightly worn, and a few abdominal tergites with their scales brushed away.
