Psilopleura pentheri Zerny, 1912b: 122 . Holotype female [by monotypy]: BRAZIL, Bahia, Joazeiro [Juazeiro], (Dr. Arnold Penther); with four labels: three printed labels ”17.3”, “Ioazeiro” and “Bras. Exped. Penther ‘03”; and one handwritten label “ Psilopleura pentheri Zerny ♀ type ”.

Current combination. Psilopleura pentheri Zerny, 1912 .

Condition of the type. Wings and dorsal surface of abdomen worn.

Remarks. This species seems to be closely related to P. kl agesi Rothschild, 1911. Both are probably part of a monophyletic concept of Psilopleura .
