Cheilopogon (Amustotrogon) formosus (Kotthaus, 1969) new combination

In 1969 Kotthaus described juveniles captured in waters of the west coast of India, which had dark bands on the body. He named them as a new species— Cypselurus formosus . Subsequently, Parin (1996) and Parin & Bogorodsky (2011) regarded this species as a junior synonym of Cypselurus hexazona (Bleeker) . In the present work, we reestablish C. formosus as a valid species and also include in it two new subspecies.
