Cypselurus hexazona (non Bleeker). Belyanina 1993: 120–124, fig. 5 (larvae and juveniles; eastern Australia; in part: except for the specimen 24.7 mm SL). Parin & Bogorodsky 2011: 683–686 [658–660 in English translation] (in part; description, distribution (waters of Australia)).

In the following works, C. olpar was probably also referred to. However, because the authors gave no characters, there is a possibility that they also deal with Cheilopogon (Ptenichthys) sp. 1, Ch. (P.) sp. 2 or C. bosha .
