Trichomyia acanthostylis Quate

Trichomyia acanthostylis Quate, 1996: 11 –12, figs. 3e–h.

Comments. Males of T. acanthostylis are recognized by the filiform gonostylus with spiniform bristles; elongated arm of gonocoxite with apical bristles; ejaculatory apodeme long, 2.5 times the length of gonostylus.

Material examined. The type specimens were not examined; however, the description and figures of Quate (1996) allowed for the identification of the specimens.

Material examined. Costa Rica, Heredia, Puerto Viejo de Sarapaque, Est. Biol. La Selva, 1 ♂, 01.VII.1993, without name of colector (MZFS).

Distribution. Costa Rica.
