Subgenus Opisthotrichomyia Bravo
Opisthotrichomyia Bravo, 2001: 50.
Type species: Trichomyia brevitarsa (Rapp, 1945), by original designation.
Comments. Bravo (2001) proposed this subgenus to include species of Trichomyia with gonocoxites having a posteromedial lobe on which various bristles are inserted. This subgenus is currently known only from Panama and Brazil.
