(3.3) Candolleomyces iqbalii complex

Notes:— In the ITS-only phylogeny (Fig. 4B), one collection of ours, three collections labeled as Candolleomyces iqbalii, and two collections labeled as Cd. punjabensis (Nom. ined.) established a monophyletic group without significant support. None of these collections has four-locus data. This group is referred to as Candolleomyces iqbalii complex in this study, characterized by usually slender basidiomata with brownish pileus, and a terrestrial to lignicolous habit. Based on the recent scale of species delimitation within Candolleomyces in academia, one undescribed species appears to exist within this complex.

Legitimately proposed species recognized in this complex:— Cd. iqbalii Usman, Bibi, Afshan & Khalid (2024) .
