Distribution. Western Atlantic—French Antilles (Guadeloupe) and Brazil (Paraíba to São Paulo) (Christoffersen 1979, as A. maxilliplanus Christoffersen 1979; Christoffersen 1984, 1998). Ecological notes. On mud bottoms. Salinity range: 24–31 psu. Depth range: 0– 2 m. Previous records. Camamu Bay (Almeida et al. 2007b).
