Loneura deibyi n. sp.
(Figs 11–20)
Diagnosis. Belonging in Group I, Subgroup IB (García Aldrete et al. 2011 b). Closest to L. colombiana García Aldrete, González & Carrejo, from which it differs by having a brown spot at the end of CuP in cell cua in the forewing, in having the areola postica taller and more triangular, in having M with 7 primary branches, and in having the hindwing M five-branched. Also, the posterior projections of the central sclerite of the hypandrium are much stouter and blunt ended than in L. colombiana .
Male. Color (in 80% ethanol). Body brown. Head brown (Fig. 12) with a dark brown band from the inner margin of each compound eye to the epistomal sulcus, encircling the upper edge of the antennal fossae. Compound eyes black, with two longitudinal strips light cream; ocelli hyaline. Vertex with brown bands on either side of the epicranial suture and next to compound eyes. Front in its central part brown, with light brown margins. Postclypeus with convergent light and dark brown slender bands, forming a V-shaped area. Anteclypeus and labrum dark brown. Genae light cream from the compound eyes to the subgenal suture, the region near the epistomal suture brown. Postgenae light cream. Antennae: scape and pedicel brown. Flagellum light brown. Mx 1–2 cream; Mx 3–4 brown. Tergal lobes of meso- and metathorax dark brown with light brown areas. Thoracic pleura brown and white. Legs cream: coxae with brown spot distally; fore- femora cream; middle and hind femora with dark bands at proximal ends; all legs with darker distal ends; tarsus 1 cream, tarsi 2–3 brown. Forewings hyaline, with a small brown spot at nodulus; pterostigma with pale brown spot in the middle. Hindwings hyaline. Abdomen with tergum pale brown; sternum dark brown, both with creamy white spots. Central sclerite of hypandrium pale brown, with sides dark brown, side sclerites brown. Epiproct and paraprocts creamy.
Morphology. As in diagnosis, plus the following: Head (Fig. 12) H/MxW: 1.46; large compound eyes, H/d: 2.56; IO/MxW: 0.7; vertex at the same level as the upper margin of the compound eyes; outer cusp of lacinial tip broad, with 6–7 denticles. Forewings (Fig. 11) L/W: 2.59; pterostigma: lp/wp: 4.64, long, wider in the middle; M seven branched, M7 distally forked; areola postica: la/ha: 1.35; high, rounded apically. Hindwing (Fig. 11) l/w: 2.80; M five branched. Hypandrium (Fig. 14) of three sclerites; the central one large, with two stout posterior projections distally blunt, proximally wide, with setae; lateral sclerites well separated from the central one, small, almost rectangular. Phallosome (Fig. 15) anteriorly V-shaped; external parameres long, slender, with membranous apex, bearing pores; three pairs of endophallic sclerites; anterior pair U-shaped, with inner arm slender and outer arm much wider, distally dilated; posterior pair long, slender, distally curved; mesal pair proximally wide, narrowing distally, acuminate. Paraprocts (Fig. 13) broad, ovoid, with few setae; sensory fields with 21–24 trichobothria on basal rosettes. Epiproct (Fig. 13) trapeziform, setae as illustrated.
