Orobainosoma flavescens— Attems (1949) (misidentification)
Diagnosis. H. fonticulorum differs from congeners by some gonopodal structures, viz., 1) presence of simple, earshaped posterior lamella bent down in an extension (vs. bilobed posterior lamella in H. faucium, H. filicis, H. inflata and H. gruberi sp. nov.; posterior lamella with distal notch in H. flavescens and H. hungarica or posterior lamella rounded, not bent down in an extensions in H. musimontium and H. pretneri), 2) presence of denticulated anterodistal lobe of mesal process (vs. saw-like mesal process in H. germanica or mesal process knife-like with posterobasal tooth in H. vidinensis) 3) absence of anterior lateral process (vs. developed in H. cyanopida, H. lacusnigri, H. inter- media, H. microcorna, H. makarovi sp. nov., and H. plasana).
Etymology. Verhoeff (1910a) stated he found this species in a very wet, fibered moss sprinkled with springwater. A very unusual habitat for millipedes, after which he named the new species (fonticulus =little fountain or spring). Since fonticulorum is Latin genitive plural, it should remain as such although Haasea is feminine gender.

Comments. One of the two males in Latzel’s type series of Craspedosoma flavescens housed in NHMW (see Wirkner et al. 2002: 13) is H. fonticulorum .
Attems (1949: 129) misidentified specimens from Königstuhlgebiet and Gastein Rathausberg as Orobainosoma flavescens . In the same paper, Attems (1949: 130) recorded Orobainosoma fonticulorum from “Ötztal Alps”, probably referring to specimens from “Hochsölden Ötztaler” he previously misidentified as Orobainosoma flavescens as stated on the original label.
