Pselaphomorphus cayennensis Vásquez-Vélez n. sp.

Diagnosis. Pselaphomorphus cayennensis is characterized by the combination of a medium body size (2.0–3.0 mm), antennae without evident clava, base of aedeagus symmetrical, and the accessory lobe hand-shaped (Fig. 11 B).

Description. Male. Body length 2.4 mm. Body flattened dorsally, light brown with yellow pilosity. Head pearshaped (length 0.65 mm, width 0.4 mm), base of antennal tubercle as long as diameter of eye. Longitudinal sulcus wider between eyes, spindle-shaped. Eyes kidney-shaped (diameter 0.1 mm). Antennal length 1.4 mm. Antennomere length as follows: 1 (0.08 mm), 2 and 3 (0.06 mm), 4 to 6 (0.08 mm), 7 to 10 (0.12 mm), and 11 (0.24 mm), inconspicuous clava present. Maxillary palpi yellowish with short, clear and even pilosity. Pronotum elongate (length 0.45 mm, width 0.4 mm). Lateral lobes trapezoidal, basally and apically round. Antebasal lobe rectangular, with small triangular projections laterally. Pronotal disc quadrate. Elytra length 0.6 mm; width 0.7 mm. Humeral teeth and humeral elevation present. Sutural fovea present, transversely elongate, sutural stria semioval. Basal discal fovea rounded. Abdominal segments I–V dorsally with length as follows: 0.4, 0.15, 0.1, 0.1, 0.1 (mm). Genitalia. Phallobase regular, apically asymmetric. Median lobe divided basally into two arms: left arm laminate, expanding under other pieces of structure; right arm cylindrical, curved towards left side of structure. Accessory lobe located above arms of median lobe, basally cylindrical and apically widened and divided, forming ‘hand’ shape (Figs. 11 B, 11C).

Type material. Holotype (male): “ French Guiana, Cayenne, Matoury. XI-80. G. Tavakilian”. Paratypes (14): French Guiana: 13 males, same information as holotype; 1 male, Cayenne, Cabassou. XII-80. G. Tavakilian (MHNG).

Etymology. Named after the capital city of French Guiana, Cayenne, where the holotype and paratypes were collected.
