Type material. BRAZIL: ♂ holotype, Acre: Senador Guiomard, F. E., Catuaba, 10°04’28’’S, 67°37’00’’W, 15– 31.XII.2016, E.F. Femorato & J.A. Rafael leg. (INPA) .

Etymology. The specific name is a patronym in honor of the first author’s mother, Edna Maciel Barbosa Silva.

Diagnosis. Both males and females of Myrmecotypus ednae spec. nov. resemble those of M. candianii spec. nov. by the elongate thoracic region (twice the length of the cephalic region), coxa I light brown and coxa II white. Males differ by the presence of an RTA and the embolus short and folded (compare Figs 18G and 19G). Females differ by the epigynal transverse ridge recurved, with a large marginal sclerotized area (compare Figs 18I and 19I).

Description. Male (paratype MNRJ-07065). Total length 5.77. Carapace 3.27 long, 1.23 wide. Sternum 1.56 long, 0.56 wide. Abdomen 1.88 long, 1.28 wide. Eye diameters: AME 0.11, ALE 0.03, PME 0.06, PLE 0.08. Eye inter-distances: AME-AME 0.08, AME-ALE 0.05, ALE-PLE 0.14, PME-PME 0.20, PME-PLE 0.16, AME-PME 0.11. Carapace long and narrow, reddish-brown, with strong constriction between the cephalic and thoracic regions, lateral margin with two moderate constrictions, anterior margin truncated. Endites and labium yellowish-brown. Chelicerae yellowish-brown, three promarginal teeth of different sizes and two retromarginal teeth equal and equidistant. Sternum yellowish-brown, elongate and narrower between legs III and IV. Abdomen pear-shaped, with dorsal scute dark brown, nearly complete and covered by feathery hairs (Fig. 18A, B). Ventral scute quadrangular-shaped, dark-brown, tracheal scute yellow (Fig. 18C). Coxae I and II translucent white, III and IV light brown. Femora I and II white in promargin and retromargin, with two brown ventrolateral lines and brown dorsally; patellae, tibiae and tarsi white; metatarsi yellowish-brown. Legs III and IV yellowish-brown, with patella white ventrally. Palp with RTA spiniform; globose genital bulb drawn into moderately long neck, ending in short, folded embolus (Fig. 18G, H).

Female (paratype MNRJ-13355). Total length 7.31. Carapace 3.38 long, 1.31 wide. Sternum 1.61 long, 0.58 wide.Abdomen 3.18 long, 2.46 wide. Eye diameters:AME 0.11,ALE 0.06, PME 0.05, PLE 0.08. Eye inter-distances: AME-AME 0.08, AME-ALE 0.06, ALE-PLE 0.19, PME-PME 0.30, PME-PLE 0.20, AME-PME 0.15. Carapace reddish-brown, shape as in male. Endites and labium brown. Chelicerae brown, three promarginal teeth different sizes and two retromarginal teeth equal and equidistant. Sternum as in male, covered by feathery hairs. Abdomen globose, with moderately small, reddish-brown dorsal scute, feathers hairs covering as in male (Fig. 18D). Ventral scute absent and tracheal scute present. Coxae I and II translucent white, III and IV brown. Femora I and II white on promargin and retromargin, with two brown ventrolateral lines and brown dorsally; patellae, tibiae and tarsi white; metatarsi yellowish-brown. Legs III and IV yellowish-brown, with patella white ventrally. Leg measurements: Ifemur 1.98; II—femur 1.69 / tibia 1.49 / metatarsus 1.32; III—femur 1.67 / tibia 1.34 / metatarsus 1.41; IV—femur 2.67 / tibia 1.75 / metatarsus 2.06. Epigyne with transverse ridge recurved, with large marginal sclerotized area. Vulva with two moderately large, globose spermathecae with short necks. Copulatory duct moderately thin, inserted laterally (Fig. 18I, J).

Variation. Length (3♂) total 6.30–6.85, carapace 3.50–3.90, femur I 1.65–1.78; (2♀) total 6.07–6.67, carapace 3.41–3.75, femur I 1.56–1.74.
