Myrmecotypus myrmecioides (Mello-Leitão, 1922) comb. nov.; nomen dubium

Apochinomma myrmecioides Mello-Leitão, 1922: 47 .

Female holotype from Pinheiro, Rio de Janeiro, Brazil, destroyed in the 2018 MNRJ fire.

The original description is consistent with that of a species of Myrmecotypus, indicating a recurved PER, with nearly equidistant eyes, white coxae II, a mediocre pedicel collar and abdomen devoid of constrictions. Despite our confidence that this species indeed belongs to Myrmecotypus, no details depicted in the original description are informative at the species level.
