Empicoris rubromaculatus (Blackburn, 1889)

The genus Empicoris Wolff, 1811, has numerous species worldwide; E. rubromaculatus is cosmopolitan (Wygodzinsky 1966; Maldonado 1990). Despite this worldwide distribution, it was previously not formally recorded from Colombia. The record of this species together with that of E. barberi (see below), represent a new generic record from the country.
