Micrauchenus lineola (Fabricius, 1787)

Micrauchenus Amyot & Servile, 1843, is a monotypic genus. M. lineola was described from French Guiana, and has been recorded from Colombia, Surinam, Guyana, and Brazil (Maldonado 1990; Bérenger & PluotSigwalt 1997; GilSantana et al. 2003). Although Adis (1984) mentioned termitefeeding behavior for this species (as “ Micrauchenus lineolus ”) from Panamanian specimens, no specific localities were given. Froeschner (1999) in his catalogue of Heteroptera of Panama did not mention this genus. It is here recorded for the first time formally from Panama, Venezuela, Trinidad and Tobago, and Peru. Additional localities from Colombia and Brazil are also given below.
