Distribution. The species is recorded from South Africa only (Gauteng, Mpumalanga, Eastern Cape, Free State, KwaZulu-Natal, Limpopo provinces).
Remarks. The labelling of Figs. 4 and 5 in Puthz (2006) is incorrect. Fig. 4 in the plate should be labelled as Fig. 5 (refers in reality to S. gerardi and not to S. pretoriensis) and Fig. 5 should be labelled by Fig. 4 (refers in reality to S. pretoriensis and not to S. gerardi), which follows from next pictures (Puthz 2006: Figs. 41–49, 57–60). The identification of records published by Janák (2008) as S. pretoriensis and S. gerardi were based simply on these pictures and should be corrected as follows: records of S. pretoriensis refers in reality to S. gerardi (KwaZulu-Natal: Crocodile Farm, Hluhluwe) and record of S. gerardi refers in reality to S. pretoriensis (10 km NW of Winterton).
