Phaseolus juquilensis A. Delgado (2000: 421) [clade B; sect. Paniculati Freytag].
TYPE: M Sousa-Sánchez et al. 6353 (HOLOTYPE: MEXU n.v.; ISOTYPES: BM-898068 and 898069, CHAPA, ENCB).
A member of the Paniculati found in pine-oak forest with little disturbance, the distribution of which seems restricted to Oaxaca (in the Mixteca Alta and on the inner slope of Sierra de Miahuatlán), at 1800–2000 m. The few populations known to date invite to still consider it as endemic for the time being. The synonymy proposed by Delgado-Salinas and co-workers (2006) for P. acinaciformis Freytag & Debouck makes sense to this author.
Specimen: MEXICO. Oaxaca: R. Hernández-Magaña 5143 (IBUG-197641).
