The genus is distributed throughout the Afrotropical and Oriental Regions (Lorenz 2021). There is no formal revision of the genus, but a key for the southern species of Africa was provided by Serrano et al. (2017). There are 11 and three species recognized for the former and the later Regions, respectively (Lorenz 2021). The genus was not recorded for Guinea ‒ Bissau until I described a new species for this country.
