Taxonomic remarks. The type species of the genera Bolotettix ( B. validispinus from Malaysia: Sarawak: Kuching) and Syzygotettix ( S. boettcheri from Philippines: Palawan: Binaluan) characterized by almost the same diagnostic features and undoubtedly belongs to one genus. Therefore, a new synonymy is proposed: Bolotettix Hancock, 1907 = Syzygotettix Günther, 1938, syn. nov. Here five species are transferred from Syzygotettix to Bolotettix and new combinations are established: Bolotettix baeri (Bolívar, 1887), comb. nov., Bolotettix boettcheri Günther, 1938, comb. nov., Bolotettix semperi Günther, 1938, comb. nov., Bolotettix uncinatus (Stål, 1877), comb. nov., and Bolotettix vicinus Günther, 1938, comb. nov.
