Polyrhaphis hystricina Bates, 1862
(Fig. 93)
Polyrhaphis hystricina Bates, 1862: 402 .
Remarks. This species was described based on syntypes. One syntype is from Brazil. The type locality and sex of the other specimen were not provided. Monné (2024b) and Tavakilian & Chevillotte (2024) reported that P. hystricina was described based on a male holotype from Brazil (Pará). However, according to Bates (1862): “There is a specimen of this species in the British Museum, ticketed “ P. hystricina, White,” which name I have adopted; it is larger and paler in colour than my example, but agrees with it in all other respects. It appears to be a rare species. My specimen was taken near Pará.” Therefore, there were two specimens and the type locality is not the Brazilian state of Pará: it is Brazil, near Pará.
Material examined. PERU (new country record), Loreto: Pucacuro, Río Corrientes, 1 female, 21.VIII.2009, J.J. Ramírez leg. (JJRH) .
