Mezira subtilis Josifov & Kerzhner, 1974

Distribution. Russia (Far East: Primorsky Krai) (Josifov & Kerzhner 1974; Heiss 2001).

Comments. Beron (2016) listed M. subtilis from North Korea and Russia citing Josifov & Kerzhner (1974) as a reference, while compiling the results of Bulgarian foreign zoological expeditions. This information was subsequently incorporated in Korean faunal lists (KSAE & ESK 2021, NIBR 2019–2023), although this species does not appear in any of the earlier lists of Korean Heteroptera (Lee & Kerzhner 1994; Kwon et al. 2001; Lee et al. 2013). The original text of Josifov & Kerzhner (1974) states that all materials in the type series of M. subtilis were collected from the Russian Far East. Since M. ludviki Josifov & Kerzhner, 1978, a species described in the same paper and known from both North Korea and the Russian Far East, was also included in Beron (2016) ’s list, we suppose listing of M. subtilis from North Korea is apparently an error. Lacking subsequent studies regarding the distribution of M. subtilis after its original description, we exclude Korea from the distribution of M. subtilis .
