Plautia splendens Distant, 1900
Distribution. Japan (Ogasawara Islands) (Ishikawa & Moriya 2019).
Discussion. This species was first recognized from Korea by Lee (1971) and was subsequently reported from various localities in Gyeonggi-do, Gangwon-do, Gyeongsangbuk-do, Gyeongsangnam-do, and Jeollanam-do provinces (Kwon et al. 2001). However, Ishikawa & Moriya (2019) argued that P. splendens is endemic to the Ogasawara Islands in Japan, and the populations previously referred to P. splendens from mainland Japan and China belongs to a new species, Plautia himechabane Ishikawa & Moriya, 2019. The identity of the Korean specimens known as P. splendens needs future verification; P. splendens is preliminarily excluded from the list of the Korean fauna.
