Material examined. South Korea. Gyeonggi-do: 8 ♂, 9 ♀, Dongducheon, Pyeonghwa-ro, Mt. Soyosan, on excrement of Water Deer ( Hydropotes inermis), 5.vi.2022, leg. Jinbae Seung (SNU) . Gyeongsangnam-do: 1 ♂, Geoje-si, Jisimdo Island (34.817816, 128.748412), 12.iv.2024, leg. Wonwoong Kim (SCNU) .

Distribution. Korea (Gyeonggi-do, Jeollanam-do, Gyeongsangnam-do), Japan (Honshu, Shikoku, Kyushu, Nansei Islands) (Imura & Ishikawa 2012).
Comments. In East Asia, there are two species in this genus: P. japonicus Lis, 1994 from various localities in Japan and P. semialbidus (Walker, 1867) from mainland China, Taiwan, and Japan (Ishigaki, Iriomote Islands) (Lis 1999; Imura & Ishikawa 2012). The Korean specimen is a good match with the original description of P. japonicus by Lis (1994).
