Habit: shrub or small tree or sometimes scrambling liana (1-5, rarely to 10 m).

Habitat: on a riverside.

Distribution: from the Himalayas throughout southern China, Indochina to Indonesia (as far east as Sulawesi and Timor Barat) and Timor-Leste.
